After the Shelburne Hotel in Murray Hill was acquired by new owners, we partnered with In Good Company Hospitality to help name and brand two separate venues therein, beginning with the corner spot downstairs. Take Care New York offers a quality, local respite for the street level energy of day-to-day New Yorkers, and a stopping off point for lobby-side hotel guests.
The interior was reimagined in an understated, mid-century polish. White and warm tones and distinct, elegant material wrap around cozy corners making simplicity and continuity part of its statement. The timeless, open design left plenty of space for the personality and voice of its staff, patrons, and its visual identity.
‘Take Care’ began as a general idea for positioning the restaurant: pride in work and place. It was adopted whole-heartedly, name and all. A love for New York, shared equally with all guests and neighbors, person to person. Hand-drawn text and illustration bring this goodwill to life as intimate doodles of day to day, food, drink, and rest, shared in New York.
